how to remove TR mold release agent?

Hi,

After some help from a bunch of people (including some great advice here, thanks!) I put what I guess is a hull extrusion up, adding to the bow, of my 26 ft walkaround.

The attached picture shows the hull after one side of the mold was taken down today (reddish resin is the original, whitish is system III 2 part epoxy).. Picture looks a little out of scale, is only 23 inches of new hull.

What I haven't been able to figure out is how to prep the hull to remove mold release prior to sanding? I used "TR", can't remember if it's parrafin or carnuba wax..

I've got acetone and alcohol on hand.. not sure if I should wash first with soap, and what kinda, etc..

Thanks in advance!

Jon

Dosent matter what kind of wax just wipe with acetone and sand wet with a bar of soap and lots a water . i guess you are wanting to paint ? If you mould again use PVA release agen !! Just washes off with water and the wax stays on the mould not on the product !!

Thanks, wasn't sure what would work for epoxy, system III's literature recommended the wax.

Actually, what I need to do is first I want to run a layer of tape around the edge of the new/old hull. It's going to suck as far as requiring finish work, when everything is already so smooth, but makes me feel better as far as the structural integrity. So, de-wax/prep, then run the tape around, then the finish work, then a tie coat, then paint.

Thanks,

Jon
