| Hole Repair Methods and Materials Had to surgically remove a rotted wood mast cleat from the deck of my FJ and now have a 1" x 3" wide hole straight thru the hull. I can access both sides but not sure if I have to re-laminate all the layers of glass or would a epoxy-based filler work better ? The actual thickness of the keel laminate is about 3/4" if that's a factor. Also, would I be better putting back in a piece of polymer or would wood actually bond better ? Please advise/ help, Thanks Pete |
