good websites?

Hi,

I am wondering if someone know any good websites with information about different ways to manufacture sailing boat hulls of composites? I need all information i can get, from material selection to fiber directions ect...

I am studying composite materials and are trying to get a hang of how to build sailing boat hulls with FRP...

Thank you,
Emilia Z

Emilia Z,

There are two books that would be of great help to you:

"Modern Boatbuilding Materials and Methods," by Steve Sleight, published in 1985 by International Marine Publishing in the US ans Nautical Books in the United Kingdom.

"Design Guide for Marine Applications of Composites", by the Ship Structure Committee, edited by Eric Greene Associates Inc., Annapolis, Maryland, published in 1997.

For the latest in resin transfer molding, I refer people to GRPguru.com. This is a company run by Andre Cocquyt in Stuart Florida. He teaches boatbuilding methods using resin transfer techniques and sells the processing materials for doing so.

Eric

For the latter, also visit www.polyworx.com and also ask for his CD. It is very informative.
