Youtube is full of them. Do a search on fiberglass, epoxy, boatbuilding, resin infusion, gelcoat and you'll get some good ones from Jamestown Distributors, Bateau.com, Polymer Products. It just takes a little detective work.

ok try your local suppliers
being italy you should have a vast abundance of resorces
also search vacume infushion methods and material suppliers
they all have videos
here in the usa they will sell you the products and come show you how to use them as well if you have the mold ready for production

is this going to be a 1 off project and what size trmaran are you thinking
and is it going to be a power boat or sail boat
and another thing to look at would be carbon fiber pre preg materials
but you need heat to make it set up
they manufacture this product right in china

also if you look into west systems product line they have lots on videos

ok i get you now

1 off means yours will be the first and the only one built

80 ft big bucks plus rigging high dollar project

i would switch up to alumniumcore

foam composite,s are quite exspensive here in the states
they range from 175.00 to 575.00 for each 4x8 sheet f,,or the good high densitiy stuff

ok then good luck
look it over real good and make a good start up plan first
a video is not going to show you what you need to know to build a 80 ft boat
cheaply you will need to take some classes

He probably meant to say "one-off" which means that you'll only build one boat, not many where economies of scale would make each one cheaper. Tooling and setup for building only one boat is more expensive than leveraging those investments over many boats.

Outsourcing is where you hire someone else to do the work for you which could include building the entire boat or just the hull etc.

Wow!

In all liklihood horrendously expensive. Costs to build a boat are directly proportional to their size and costs increase exponentially as size increases. For example a 40' catamaran build with quality materials and processes could cost (just hypothetical) $200,000, a 44'er $320,000 a 48'er $500.000 etc.

re

Happy to learn a new term (off project) thanks guys.
I'll do a seach on aluminium ..
Foam price here looks like being around 50 euros per 11 square feet sheet ( 1 square yard).
http://translate.google.com/translat...hl=it&ie=UTF-8

That's preatty expensive yet.

p.s:
This is a 'sandwitch' how to (fiberglass-foam).
