| fiberglass tapes fittability Hi, Is it possible to replace a layer of 0.5mm woven roving fiberglass tape for : -2 layers of 0.2mm of Cloth E glass tape Unidirectional (Plain Weave, loomstate) or -1 layer of 1.6mm of Cloth E glass tape Unidirectional ( Plain Weave, loomstate) or -3 layers of 0.18mm woven roving tape Information needed for the construction of a stich and glue canoe. Cited materials are those available to me and nearest to plan list. Thank you |

| Either option 1 or 3 will do. Option 2 is useless, as you need the 90 degree fiber, which is not in that tape. (or just a small portion) Option 1 can be changed to 3 layers as well, althoug 2 layers might be enough in certain places. If you want to go safe, use 3 layers. It is nice to do multiple thin layers, as you can stagger them a bit, preventing large ridges which require sanding.
