Fiberglass repair

Hello,

I work on a 108 sunseeker predator based in Lagos Nigeria. My employer wants me to learn how to do fiberglass and gel coat repairs, because of the need for self sufficiency down here we have to do alot of work ourselves that anywhere else in the yachting world you would just call someone to do it for you. I have been doing some research but cant find anywhere in the U.K that runs this kind of course. Can anybody suggest a place for me to try? Any feed back would be fantastic, thanks.

John

Hi John, you can try southampton city college, they run courses and you just have to keep an eye on their website for when. failing that

your owner could of course fly me over and Ill do the full course for you in house.

If you want to learn GRP repairs you could do worse than contact Canvey yacht builders uk, they do GRP courses inc repair on occasion & the proprietor Eric Birch has forgotten more than most of us will ever know about the subject.
I have no connection with the company save that they are nice people!
