Fiberglass boat from old hull... I have a 50-year old, 13-foot wooden, claboard side hull which I am working on restoring and would like to make a fiberglass boat from. I am looking for some info about how to keep fiberglass from bonding to wood so that the new hull can be removed from the old one without wrecking the old hull. Any info would be great! ![]()

canadian, i suppose if you tried to use this as a mold you could spray Release on the wood? maybe by mixing in an optional add in you can have it release. it may be hard to spray though because the wood would have to be absouleutly perfectly sanded and all. perhaps you can make a fiberglass over wood boat. hope it helps, ~!john!~

Excellent Thank you kindly ole buddy. That should be all I need to know to get me goin. I already have the hull sanded smooth, but I'm going to clat it over with 1/4 inch plywood anyway to save me the work of working in the "clabboard" sides. Then all I have to do is remove the plywood in order to preserve the original hull and hang it on my wall . Thanks again
