The adjuster is not your friend. He works for the insurance company to maximize its profit. The bulkheads are a small part of the structure of the boat. Ask him is they are willing to put in writing that there is no structural damage; then it may be a good deal.

    What PAR and Gonzo said!

Without a good structural analysis of the hull you don't know what you are getting, and you can't trust what the adjuster for the seller says. They just want to get rid of the boat. If the hull is sound it may be worth your while at a much reduced price but you are still going to have to put a lot of money into it before you can put it on the water, far more than you paid. THe engine may be worth something if it is in running condition, but how do you know it is? Unless you have engine technician check it out you don't know.

AS was said you can get a used boat in far better running condition for about the same price they are asking.

Offer them what you would pay for the used engine (if it runs) and the trailer. Trailer looks cheap in the foto. remember, they just want to get rid of it.

Sounds reasonable. I'd just check the engine is not seized.
