| Epoxy bond to Polyester If I choose to use epoxy for my stringer and transom installation, are there any known issues with bonding to the exsisting Fibreglass on the hull? Does epoxy bond better to wood? Thanks in advance, -J  |

| bonding stringers If you make your stringers out of glass + poly ester separately from the boat or in the boat so that they can be removed it MIGHT be a better bond using Plexus to bond the finished and ground stringer back into the ground hull. I haven't worked with the stuff but I have been told that this produces a better bond than either epoxy to polyester or polyester to polyester. DEFINITELY check with a Plexus expert first! |

| Epoxy definetly bond sbetter to wood (than polyester or vinylester does). Epoxy will also prevent water absorption, while polyester is not a good water barrier. It seems like epoxy bonds well to old polyester, when all the styrene is evaporated, taht is after several years. |
