2 pictures of the object. It has been modified 2 years later because I changed the propulsion (again), but the box is still in place and shows no sign of leakage.

The builder I am using has missed the completion dates by 7 weeks SO FAR! But I do have some pics to show you of the extension rough mounted. It is VERY BEEFY, but probably not as strong as the 1000# weight and 3/4" thickness would infer (I think the joints are weaker than the panels).

Take a look (two of the three hatch covers are removed). The periphery is glassed in and out, the boat transom and stringers were beefed up, and the face of the extension is bonded and through-bolted (some directly to the four longitudinal bulkheads). The 'sides' significantly reduce the attachment loads and are also very robust.

The upsweep of the tail is to allow water to flow smoothly and to reduce hydrodynamic force when underway (I hope my squat/rise is not much different than current trim). I removed the trim tabs - they were rarely used on this sub-10 knot boat. Will report final sea trial results. FYI - every self-appointed expert within 50 miles has said this won't work!
