| engine box I am getting ready to build new raised engine boxes for a 28 bertram FBC. I will be using divynicell as core material and plan to use epoxy for resin(system three). Should I be concerned of deformation/degradation with the heat from the motors(yanmar diesel) using epoxy. There will be some sound insulation inside the box so that should help. Thanks |

| Depends on how close to the exhaust it will be. Epoxy will start deforming at about 220 F

| gonzo, One would assume that normal boatbuilding practices are followed, of course epoxy will melt if anyone is stipid enough to have it next to 1000 degree exhausts, I think we must accept standard building practice exist.

| Someone familiar with standard building practices would not be asking basic questions.
