..or are you talking about the PVA? I've used it before and it definitely works but it also leaves a texture in the part.

Will the PVA help? You bet it will. We've done side by side tests, wax alone and PVA over wax. The difference with the release was night and day. Without PVA we were chipping our plugs out of our molds. With PVA the molds popped right off. (Used in mold making.)

Spraying the PVA will leave a texture. Wiping the PVA on with a rag doesn't. At least not enough to be a concern for our parts. Your milage may vary.

The oil based plasticine clay seems to work great. I should have bought some right away instead of trying to save a few bucks. Didn't use PVA, which does not seem to be required in my specific case. The alloy tube idea was particularly useful. The mold looks great, thanks for the suggestions.
