| CNC made "plug" or mold, cost and finish A Norwegian company now offers Five-Axis CNC Machining of molds up to 26x7x4 meters. The price for a complete mold or "plug" is approx 1000USD per m2. The surface is very smooth and can be used without much more work. A female mold made this way can be used 10 to 50 times. Is this a fair price compared to what you pay in other countries? |

| Does $1000 include materials? Sounds very reasonable. Yoke. |

| Yes, it's maybe an introductory offer from a new player, it's about half the price we where used to. The material is some kind of foam first and then one cm or so with a fairing paste before the last finish. |

| find out the HDT of the material. I know from personal experiences, the potenital saves of using a cheap tooling resin can have serious in-stability issues. Theres nothing worse that an unstable plug, even the slightest temperature change can make a fair plug, pissed as a fart. Through all your hard worse down the drain.
