Anybody have info on repairing delaminated stringers?

I recently purchased a southwind jet boat. It's a fixer upper and the main problem is that the stringers where the motor is mounted are delaminated. The fiberglass has seemed to be separated from the wood. Does anyone have any info or know where i can get a book on repairing stringers? Thanks for any help

Do you have any wood damage? And do you own a grinder. If no wood damage you could just grind out the delam area. Sand the area that you will be glassing over. Clean the are and reglass. Make sure to machanically fasten the glass. Should do the trick.

delaminated stringers

Greetings:
If you take a look at "Fiber Glast Repair", "Composite transom repair", "system three epoxy", and Glen-L boats, you'll find excellent stringer repair sites. Rot Doctor also has help if the stringers are rotted any.
I looked under "repairing fiberglass boats" to find the above web sites.

If the strigers are wood, use epoxy please. And most important of all...... Make sure the stringers are dry.........no moisture or nothing will stick.

Drill a test hole in the stringer to check for internal moisture. Use a 3/8-1/2 inch bit. If you see dark wood, or if you poke in it with an awl or screwdriver and if it isn't ROCK HARD AND BONE DRY it means only ONE THING:

Your stringers are rotten, and may be unsafe requiring replacement...
