Advice on painting fiberglass boat

I'm restoring a 1973 fiberglass boat, all of the sanding is done and it's ready to be painted. I'm thinking of using Interlux Fiberglass Bottomkote with Irgarol. How should I prep this hull for this paint? Besides the paint, what other products do I need to buy? Will this be the best paint for a fiberglass or is there something that might work better? Thanks.

I saw on another forum someone recomending the use of a barrier coat on the bottom then the bottom coat over that. Anyone know of an easy to use product for a first time do-it-yourself individual to apply this barrier coat?

I only use epoxy primer and urethane paint.

When ever I have painted a fiberglass boat I have used Awlgrip. I understand you are using a different system. The paint you use should have a system - other products that are compatible with the top coat. That is, there should be a recommended cleaner, de-greaser, final wipe, primer etc.... In the past I have used Interlux microplates for a barrier coat on bottoms.

I painted my beach cat with Interlux brightsides this summer. I think it turned out pretty nice for a DIY job.
