Advice For a Newby

I have been an avid inshore fisherman for a number of years and have owned several glass boats over that time. I would like to take a shot at building myself a 16ft backcountry flats boat.
I live in NC and would like to know if there any programs /courses that you would recommend to educate me in the process of fiberglass boat construction.
Thanx in advance

Have you considered the origami method in steel?

Try Carteret Community College http://www.carteret.cc.nc.us/ or
Cape Fear Community College http://cfcc.edu/programs/boatbuilding/courses.htm
Both have boat building courses and may know where you can find what you want.

NC Maritime Museum also has Boat Building Classes http://www.ncmaritime.org/programs/boat-bldg.htm

Have a look at the Glen-L site It's more fiberglass over wood than just fiberglass but you might find a boat you like and you can learn everything from there forum and this one its like having a school that is open 24-7 when ever you have a question just ask. I had never built a boat before this one and now I have the bug.
