Moving batteries...

Hello all, another question to those in the know! I want to move my batteries forward. My two choices are mid cabin, under seats OR all the way forward, under the anchor rode compartment. I know I will have to vent the compartment, wherever it ends up. My major concern is that maybe there will be to much weight in the bow, (2-8D). I'm in the middle of re-powering 350's with 454's, and the mc is going to be pretty tight, as well as heavier than before. This move will make the cable runs longer, (batt-Switch), but the cables will be much larger. Any thoughts?

It may be (depending on the weight difference between the engines and their location) that the CG moves aft, so the extra weight forward will be beneficial. However, I don't like long cable runs, so I'd advise that you keep the batteries close to the engine. Small bags of gravel are good ballast if the boat doesn't handle well.
