My friend has the following equipment inetalled in his 34ft. SeaRay : 4,500 watt genset, 2500watt inverter c/w 100amp charger, 120amp alternator on one engine, 880 amp-hour house bank, Link 2000 inverter/charge control unit. He has connected the genset output to a receptacle located adjacent to his shorepower input. If his house bank requires re-charging when he is anchored in a remote location he connects the genset output receptacle to the shorepower input by means of a short power cord, starts the genset, sets the Link 2000 to "charge and his battery bank is charged very quickly by the 100amp charger. When underway the 120amp engine alternator handles the charging duty. I would appreciate any comments, criticisms or suggestions.
