AC Auto Transfer Switch

Would it be cheaper to buy the parts for this and assemble it myself, rather than purchasing a ready made unit, like the ones Mastervolt sell.

The MasterSwitch (as Mastervolt calls it) is a bloody pricey item, but it has some nice features that would be considerabe work to duplicate. The time delayed switching to allow genset powerup for example. Maybe the parts are cheaper but your going to be there a while building that one.
