study in sweden

I am a mechanical engineer working in boat manufacturing industry in dubai and i would like to persue boat design/engineering as a career. I was wondering if anyone could give me some names of some schools that are in sweden that offer this as a field of study. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Chalmers in Sweden

This course is aimed at naval architecture, but perhaps the institute can help you further.

You can also contact "Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan" in Stockholm,

Or maybe consider Norway also :-)

This is more towards large ships:

While this is a new programme for smaller boats and yachts:

If you choose to study at Chalmers in Gothenborg, then you will have the honour of studying with Professor Lars Larson, author of Principles of Yacht Design. Expect his courses to be rather theoretical... but obviously, the guy is very knowledgeable indeed.

I wouldn’t choose Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan myself, Chalmers is a much more charming university.

The area around Göteborg has many interesting yacht builders also :-)
The island of Orust for example, with Hallberg-Rassy, Najad, Malö and Nord West being the largest, I think.
