Who cares how much submersion, it just has to float right? So a wooden block, 40W X 20H X 25D cm, 3 kg block in the middle and throw 0.5 kg more on after 20 seconds. Poof, done. Something missing here. More info northrox -Tom P.S. Where's Indi?

its a model. i have to design some thing tat takes max load. material no bound. and floats with max 4\5 of its drafts submerged. it has to take a min. of 3 kg load. an then i have to test it for increasing loads. now my question is what sud i consider while i have to design it. the lighter the model the better. wood is heavy. i was thinking of using sheet metal or plastic . i will be loading it with sand bags of 500 gms for testing.

Mr E, My response was referring to the OP. Sorry if you misunderstood me to have directed it to you. There wasn't enough information to make a significant comment. It wasn't clear (to me) what roll submersion played. You figure it out. -Tom
