Martitime Institute of Quebec Greetings, Hereby doing some research on Naval Architecture program in "Institute Maritime du Quebec", was wondering if any folks around here knew something regarding that school? The program it self is a College diploma or "DEC" in Quebec, which I am not sure how that translated to around Canada nor internationally. Thank you! ![]()

I've worked with one naval architect from there. He was very competent. However, I know absolutely nothing about the program. He could have just been a natural. One weird thing is that he tried to do some contract work in the states and they wouldn't let him across the border because his diploma was in french. He tried to get across three times I believe. The border guards didn't believe he really was qualified to do the work he was contracted to do so they wouldn't let him across. Dumb.

Thank you DavidJ for the reply! So far as I have found, their program is a DEC (College Diploma / Associate's Degree in other countries) in Naval Architecture Technology that is three years. Heading there this January, so will update more head-on information for future people whom may be interested in this program. : ) Cheers!
