Best Maritime school

Hello,
I know this is my first post and it is obviously in the wrong forum but it was the only place i could find where i can possibly get reliable info. I'm going to be a junior in high school this year and it is time to start looking at schools and i am set on wanting to go into the marine industry and am not interested in going into the military so the coast guard or naval academy are out of the question so i am looking for which maritime school in north america or elsewhere that i should set my sights on to get the best education and have the most possible opportunities upon graduation. In short im looking for the most reputable school where i can get the best education to enter into the marine industry.

Webb Institute of Naval Architecture if you want to be an naval Architect or Marine Engineer. Be warned though, it can be brutal. Entry standards are very high and those that fall behind will be asked to leave.

Behind Webb are a couple of other schools for NA&ME; Uof Michigan and MIT are both considered ok, pick UofM over MIT for a more practical industry oriented program, MIT for the more cutting edge theoritical program.

For other portions of the marine field, it all depends on your particular interests, oil patch, Ocean Engineering, ROVs & AUVs, small vessels. The different schools that lean more or less towards each of those fields.

Just to get into the general marine field at the worker level, almost any local college with a marine program will get you the basics of the physical portion of the industry.

im more looking for a school that can get me into the officer portion of the industry. i've looked at schools like california maritime and Massachusetts maritime.

The Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point NY http://www.usmma.edu/

There are others but this will get you started. Kings Point is probably the best known.
