| Apprenticeships? I've been giving a lot of thought to this idea, and it seems like the best way for me to get into the boat industry is to apprentice as a boatbuilder while simultaneously taking Westlawn courses. But I wonder if the apprenticeship concept is considered somewhat archaic by most boat builders. I think it's a fine way to get cheap labor for the employer, and hands on education for the employee. Have you guys heard of any sailboat builders offering apprenticeships?

| I'm very familiar with NN, Va....seeing as how I grew up there. Not exactly the type of outfit I'm looking for since battleships and aircraft carriers are a far cry from sailboats. ![]()
