Perkins 12hp

I am considering buying a hurley 27. The boat needs a fair bit of work but the biggest job is the engine (a perknis 12hp) needs to be marinized. I don't have much experience in dealing with inboard motors and wouldn't now where to start.

Basically I am asking a few questions:
What would the cost of marinizing the engine be?
How long would it be likley to take?
Could I someone who has very little experience in these matters do it?
