GM 2.8 Liter

I was wondering if anyone out there has had any experience with the little 2.8 Liter GM V-6 in a marine application. Opinions? Good, bad or indifferent? I just aquired 2 of these engines and would like to use them. Just wondering if it would be worth it.

this might not be much help, but i've been scouring the web for some time now in search of propulsion systems and i haven't run across the gm 2.8. the gm engines mostly used seem to be the 2.5 L4 (iron duke), the 3.8 V6, 4.3 V6, 283 & 327 V8 (mostly chris-craft inboards), 350 V8 (i.o's and some jet boats), and, of course, the big blocks, 454, 455 V8's (large craft i.o's and most jet boats). i would think the 2.8 would be an ideal size for a marine application with the safety and corrosion mods. their apparent absence from marine use could be due to something as simple as the cost of additional manifolds for marginal power gain over the "duke." i don't know, but if they were mine i would build like i had a pair.
