I don't think so. The largest items to pass the slits are small leafs: the pump can handle that.

gonzo, i meant JUST relocating the water inlet and bypassing the pump with electrical pump. no radiator.
i dont even know that the advantages would even be worth the work on this anymore.

the boat is a 1436 and a thin hull, no air propeller is goin on this rig.

of course as long as i keep a good eye on everything, flush the motor after every run.. etc...

Fishon with all due respect no one has done this, everyone is guessing.

If you want to do stuff like this you need to be mechanically minded and able to work things out on your own.

Also, you mentioned, cost is a big factor. When you start pioneering things not commonly done, you run into added expenses, down time. Two steps forward, one step back kinda stuff. Keep it simple, and do what's proven. You're in a tough spot my friend. Good luck.

HAHA im in a very tough spot. i prbably will and up not doin anythin like this. i built a longtail a couple years ago and ran into the added expenses, one step forward, two step back kinda thing. and thats why im in the position im in now. i jus need to keep my eyes out for a good longtail for a good price that i can afford.

Arrrg, that's the most annoying thing about that forum. I had to use my work email for that exact reason.
