Anyone here ever mount a electric trolling motor in a kayak I mean on board?

Do you mean built-in? Or just a mount for one?

I ment on board. Not too hard I dont Think? And would work great with a simular steering system too a jet ski. Rather than a rudder.

depends on what the kyak is made of but the simplest is to pass a tube say 1 inch dia through the hull glass or whaterver to suit hull material and then fit the trolling motor with the prop at the bottom and the control handle at the top...some dismantling required to pass it through the tube and a good fit would be best ...for speed some g clamps and some wood

Thats what I was thinking But my hull is pastic but I can work with that. What are G Clamps?

if its a plastic hull with a deck I think a plastic tube through the two would be best the bottom hole needs to be a very tight fit so perhaps a tapered hole if the plastic is thick enough and some silicone on the inside ..Only problem with mounting the motor under the canoe is that you increase water depth required and you carnt get it off easily.....g clamps try the hardware tool shop

I was thinking plastic welding the tube through the plastic as for the weight I dont realy care but finding a platic tube with the same chemical make up as the boat my be fun. As for the motor I wnt too mount it in the boat not under it.

There is zero reason to mount the system inboard.

An electric trolling motor mounted to a back rest will do just fine , you could offset the battery a couple of inches to make up for the weight.

The tiny thrust of the unit will never cause problems , and if time is a concern , there is no faster way.

Cost almost nothing , risk, Zero!

what I'd done is slap together a simple 1 sheeter:

did the main cuts at 26-11-11 instead of the 28-10-10 specified and gained a good inch when I put gunwales onto it.

as a "kayak", paddling with kayak paddle, it swung left-right kinda wild and had a tendency to spin out with any good speed, the waterline only being about 5.5-6' worth because of the inclined ends, oh well.
on the plus side, it carried myself and 2 kids on the pond for a ride, was 170+100+65 lbs total was kinda impressive, so I didnt want to just torch it.

1 sheet luan, 1 12' 2x4, a little glue, effort, and paint.. not a big deal.
I cut a hole into it and boxed in a motorwell for a little 30# MK. trimmed the MK's shaft down about 9" worth was about right for it. the tiller was right where I wanted/needed it to be sitting about centered.
the blind was just painted window screen mesh and arrow shaft blanks, it rolled up into a nice little bundle, a little crude, but was plenty effective.
not knockin anything, but why butcher a good plastic kayak?

if you want to fit a tube for the motor you could buy a 1 inch skin fitting and fit that to the hull, watertight and all you need is your drill, then you get get a piece of pipe with a 1 inch socket, screw it on with some thread tape and your done, the parts would cost bugger all and it would take 1/2 an hour.
