Perkins 4108 block circ pump???

I just ordered a new fresh water block circulating pump for my Perkins 4108. I didn't ask how much, but when I got the bill $487 charged to my card, I almost dropped! Can this price be real?

A lot of places in the world simply replace stuff because---well--thats what they think they have to.

In the car accesory shops here they stock water pump bearings and mechanical seals and the shafts--or they will make one for you.

Take it to a good guy with a press.
