| Single diesel cat These have been around for quite a while, but I've not seen any recent reviews and don't think there are many units in operation. I've always wondered about the additional drag from the engine pod taking up most of the tunnel. You can just see a small opening either side of the stern drive, but perhaps the engine pod is above waterline when planing. The company's site has a 1999 review of a local fisherman's rig. http://www.noosacat.com.au/2600_s_diesel.html# |

| Brian back in the 1950's Bill Gallager, inventor of the electric fence built a 45' steel boat at Hamilton. It was called "Seddon Park" thats where he lived and had his business. This boat had a 5LW Gardner on one side (75hp) out of a London bus and a 6cyl Cummins on the other (about 180hp) out of a CPT air compressor. That thing ran for years as a pleasure launch, crayfishing around first East Cape then S.I. west coast. I saw her just a few years back up in Totara North. Forget all the b/s that everything has to be matched up. |
