Not sure if you are talking of boat or ship engines

In boats you will find a big difference between heavy commercial and light recreational engines of the same output. The lower revving engine always lasts longer but higher torque requires heavier components.

Yanmar are the masters of small lightweight high revving, all their engines are on their website. Other manufacturers you may need to email their sales people for a catalog since there have been a few changes recently as the emission requirements have toughened up.

Hope this helps

list of diesel engines

Add Volvo-Penta and Perkins to your list - both with web pages. Oh, and it's Cummins, by the way.

list of diesel engines

Easy enough. Just type in www.perkins.com and the same for all other makes: cummins; volvo; etc. Just add .com to their name.
