| Diesel Oil Pressure Query I am new to diesel engines and have a query about the oil pressure. I have a VDO oil pressure gauge on my bridge and whilst the engine is running the need constantly flickers between 25-75kpa. Given the gauge only goes from 0-100kpa I don't find it really helpfull. Is there something wrong with my gauge or the sender? The oile pressure gauge I have on my petrol car does not do this. Appreciate an advice or suggestions. |

| At a guess, I would say that this problem is only when it warms up and has been running for a while? If you put the wire off the sender to the block the guage should read max, if it does then its the sender at fault. Checking grounds wouldnt hurt. Faulty oil pressure senders is common, and no cars dont suffer as much, probably because the cars RPM is constantly changing--along with oil pressure. |
