Software capability

Can anyone recommend a 3D design program that allows direct modelling and trimming of non-elastic, zero-thickness surfaces, preferably exportable into Maxsurf? Please note that the accent is on the word direct. Would trade associated members please not reply.

The latest version of Maxsurf imports Rhino files files so that is one place to look.
