| Sculpt a Hull from Virtual Clay For those of you feel that the artistry of boat design is compromised by CAD software that limits the shapes you can draw - how about this? You literally sculpt a hull out of a lump of virtual clay and even get the sensation of feeling the clay. I went to a demo of this the other day (for non-boat related purposes) and was very impressed. You use a pen shaped object to 'carve' at the clay and can feel what you are doing (run the pen over the clay and your hand follows the contours). If you have a 3d printer, you can even get a real version too! |
