I don't feel I'm qualified to answer your question, but for anyone else who finds this thread and might want to offer an impression, a demo can be downloaded from http://www.techsail.com/downloads/downloads.htm

It might be useful to know what you are looking to use the software for (modification, comparison, preliminary design, etc.)

Sailfish VPP

Hello Michal,
I purchease SailfishYactAnalyser (1.07 ver) in december 2001.

I have some problems with the parametric analysis, the spreedshits and graph are wrong.
The speed polar have also some bad values( inflectio of the curve).
And it's also heavy to translate SI units in US units.
I send a mail to techsail, they promise a new release for the end of 2001 and it seems more difficult to do than they says...

I try to download PCSAIL to compare the answers, but it seems not possible, only online ?

Phil

Hi Phil,

You can download PCSail from http://www-personal.engin.umich.edu/~pfinn/ENG100/

(the main course site is http://www.engin.umich.edu/class/eng100/400/ but the link to the file for download is difficult to find).

If you do a comparison it would be interesting to hear the results.

Just a note for anyone who doesn't already know: the paper presnted at the last Chesapeake Symposium on PCSail contains comparisons of PCSail results to IMS VPP results.
