.ROU files/ VPP

Hi everybody,
i am looking for information how to produce .ROU (ROUTE) files to input them into VPP.
do i need a nav software (deckman etc) or can i do with google earth , or similar stuff.
gratefull for any input.

I think it is in Winvpp, right? If yes, it is just a custom route. Say Xmiles at Ydeg to the wind + ... So you don't really need a routing software.
I can send you a .rou sample later today to see the correct format.

Hello,

My mistake, I tried to use it but in the end did not. I found that using Excel, (importing speeds from WinVPP, and pasting) was much better.

i just posted another thread, as i didnt make any ground on the topic.
got some data in paper format(jpegs of gribs) from here

but it is not really helpful as the VPP requires .rou files.
could you please explain exactly what you menat with pasting the speeds...

in .rou files you are creating routes. A simple route will be 50nm at 135deg. WinVpp will give you the total time for a range of wind speeds.
If you have the boat speeds (from winVPP) you can compute the same thing in excel.
