| I think it is in Winvpp, right? If yes, it is just a custom route. Say Xmiles at Ydeg to the wind + ... So you don't really need a routing software. I can send you a .rou sample later today to see the correct format.

| Hello, My mistake, I tried to use it but in the end did not. I found that using Excel, (importing speeds from WinVPP, and pasting) was much better.

i just posted another thread, as i didnt make any ground on the topic. got some data in paper format(jpegs of gribs) from here http://www.knmi.nl/onderzk/oceano/wa...40/license.cgi but it is not really helpful as the VPP requires .rou files. could you please explain exactly what you menat with pasting the speeds... thanks for your help Jocki |

| in .rou files you are creating routes. A simple route will be 50nm at 135deg. WinVpp will give you the total time for a range of wind speeds. If you have the boat speeds (from winVPP) you can compute the same thing in excel.
