Rhino alternative

If you are looking for a good alternative to rhino, Punch Software aquired CSI (concepts 3D) and they are going to sell the software for 100 us.

Is a good software is not rhino for sure but is a full nurb modeler based on the ACIS 3D engine.

Plays with Mac and windows.

You can download a demo from csi website, is a very complete program and works fine and again for those with a "tight" budget i think is a good way to get a nurb modeler and so far i can say at least does most of what rhino does like lofting and all the "standard surfacing", plus automatic 2D drawings (similar to what an MCAD does this is beyond rhino), BOM, sections from solids etc.. , i found it "cranky" to use but i guess mostly becouse i did not use it full, i stayed with rhino becouse i found it faster to work with but for someone else that needs a nurb modeler here is a true workhorse highly comparable to rhino for 100 us.

now this is if they sale the version called concepts3D, they have another version called conceptsUnlimited with more features, but concepts3D is quite capable.

I think you can buy now as a "TurboCAD for Mac" is suposed to be the 2D version but i'm not sure.

Forgot to mention works with Mac and windows

cheers

TurboCAD for Mac comes in two flavors, one strict 2D and costing about $100, and one with 3D but that costs quite a lot more.
