my ship design project and presentation

dear all,
I am a student of naval architecture.
IN this academic term we have a ship design project and presentation cource.
I actully design with maxsurf academic. for that project I want to design the hull of the ship by maxsurf academic. but I am confused that how to do the rest of the works. I have to make the GA plan(general arrangement plan) ; the 3d drawing of the ship with all the super structure on the hull, and the relevant calculations.
I am very much warried about the rest of the works after the hull design in the maxsurf academic. How can I do a nice plan of the decks on the designend hull? I dont like to desing in autocad, can you please give your valuable advice and information how and by which software I can do the rest of my design easily?
I am eagerly waiting for your reply.
thanks!

Try Rhino, work through its tutorials (there's also a lot of good 3rd-party tutorials for Rhino). This package is great for 3D modelling and rendering, but sucks for 2D construction drawings; for those, there are easily a half-dozen or more comparable programs that would do what you need.

after having model of hull in maxsurf, make your GA plan in Autocad. Autocad is the best in 2D drawings. Then when you have the boat in your mind, start working with Rhino. Rhino is the best in 3D drawings. make the model in rhino than turn back to Autocad for construction drawings. This is my way...
