| MICHLET for yacht with separate keel Has anybody used the software MICHLET to calculate the wave resistance of yachts with a fin keel and a spade rudder? Is it possible to identify the additional wave resistance due to the presence of keel and rudder compared to the wave resistance of the canoe body alone? To define the appendages in MICHLET I see only the possibility to include them into the hull offsets, does that work? Can anybody share his experience? Thanks Uli |

Also, Michlet does not calculate the wave resistance of a lifting keel or rudder. Finally, Michlet is NOT suitable for most yachts because they have a L/B ratio that is too small for thin-ship theory. Good luck! Leo. Last edited by Leo Lazauskas : 03-27-2011 at 03:49 AM. | Thank you for the immediate answer! I am not surprised, I just wanted to make sure not to draw wrong conclusions. Regards Uli |
