A deck may be needed with each section part of the same master section. This enables all deck beams to be cut with a single pattern. If the sheer is given then the deck centerline and surface need to be found. Here is a simple way to find the deck centerline profile and deck surface with Rhino. It works with any master deck section, not just a simple arc, and is "exact". Keep in mind though that the centerplane deck profile will depend in part on the master deck section.
1) Start with the sheer curve (black) and the master deck section curve (blue).
2) Copy the master deck curve to the end of the sheer with the centerline end of the deck curve on the sheer. Rotate the master deck curve 180 degrees in the end view.
3) Create a temporary surface (purple) with
ExtrudeCrvAlongCrv. The rotated master deck curve is extruded along the sheer curve. The use of
ExtrudeCrvAlongCrv is key because it keeps the deck curve perpendicular to the centerplane as it moves to create the surface. Create the curve at the intersection of the temporary surface with the centerplane (red).
Section is a simple way to do this.
Delete the temporary surface and the rotated master deck curve. Move the master deck curve to the end of the sheer curve if its not already there. Create the deck surface with
ExtrudeCrvAlongCrv using the master deck curve and the
centerplane curve (not the sheer curve).
Trim the deck surface with the sheer curve.
All deck sections will be parts of the master deck curve.
