Many year viewer, finally registered, and I vote ProSurf. I've used it for a lot of things besides boat modeling; 2D art, metal sculptures.

    Have a nice 2014!
Going on with Thinkdesign3D parametric CAD, CosmosM FEA for composite structures, Suphad for planing and stepped hull design/analysis.

Man, I get absolutely no where trying to find 'Tribon' except a Wiki with a broken link to its site and some stray comments.

    Hi,
I would like to ask.. are there any programs/plugins for Rhino where I can import my Rhino 3D file and get some calculation or simulation of hydrodynamic?

    Thanks

    It'll never work. :p

(I'm actually thinking of using this for my next project, since I'm rather over trying to fight what the app wants to do)

I think this poll should be split into two because, frankly, I think that one thing is "modeling" and quite another "hull design" software.
In my opinion, some of the programs listed in the list above, are "modeling" but are not "design". Allow me an example, how to calculate stability after damage with Rhino ?.

Having started with paper and pen, I look forward to your report about the center of masses calculations you perform and how this changes your mind, about the confounded machines.

What machines do more than anything else is regurgitate. The volumetrics are handy, but we developed basic subroutines for programmable pocket calculators, a long time ago to deal with these. It's the ability to make a change and punch out the revised drawings without an eraser shield and lots of redoing, that makes them earn their keep, plus the much improved visuals to sell a product with.

Aveva has bought Tribon years ago and the program is now called Aveva.

I have worked with this program, but hull forms have been made with Napa and then linked to Tribon/Aveva.

Tribon is good for making a model for shipyards production system...

First it was called SteerBear, then Tribon and now Aveva.
