I'm not sure about simple, but Rhino 3D is by far the cheapest.

rhino demo has limited use and freeship comes as the name say's "free" ( or read whatever open source means ) as to screwing around with freeship, keep doing that, try things out on simple hulls and think of it as testing rather than screwing takes more than a few hours but in half a day i do now get ressistance, hydro and more out of a -simple- test cat not that i figered everything out yet but after a few days we should make progres

there is no demo of freeship is the full version there is a profesional version on the works but is more oriented to calcualtions than modeling the way most of the users works is by using software like maxsurf, prosurf or freeship to name a few, to model and design the hulls and from there export to a CAD or a 3D nurbs program like rhino, you can use these program to do some 3D like superstructures or deckhouses, but is not so "friendly" becouse the purpose of the software is more specific, and like any other software is all about practice there is no such thing as "easy to use software" by these i mean that practice is required. To start use Freeship to model the HULL and use any free 3D application like Moi3D, progesoft or any free 3D application like blender if you would like to buy software then Freeship+Rhino is a good option or TouchCAD cheers

Dig through the advertising popups at this site and a downloadable pdf manual will be found... http://freeship-plus.pisem.su/indexEN.html You will have quite a bit of trial by "re-do-it" ![]() have fun... most here seem to still use v2.6 - there is a manual for that too...
