Freeship hydrostatics question

I have been playing with Freeship 2.6 a little bit and I have imported a hull using a text file. The hull looks correct but when I run the hydrostatics I am not seeing any calculation for moment to trim 1" or pounds-per-inch immersion. Am I not looking in the correct place or are these called something else in the program? These are pretty common numbers for trim calculations so I'd be surprised if they are not included. Thanks!

Hi Timm,

Hope I understood your question correctly.

Go to "Calculations": instead of "Design Hydrostatics", choose the one under it, called "Hydrostatics" There you can choose different drafts: the start draft, the end draft, the draft step and the trim. The result is a table giving you more values than you're looking for.

Thanks for your help. I had already looked at that section and it wasn't there. I just went back and double checked and still can't find it. Which leads me to believe it just isn't there. I know I can use the hydrostatics function to calculate the way the boat is floating, but when I use my self-written spreadsheet for calculating the weight and trim of the boat, I need those two numbers in order to calculate how deep the boat is floating and at what angle.

I guess I can calculate it using the numbers FreeShip does give me, but it would be nice to have it do it automatically. Basically, I use these numbers as an approximation when I am doing a weight study. I also don't see a way to enter the weight of the boat and the CG of the boat and have it calculate where the boat is floating, which would be the other way of doing this (and likely more accurate).
