| Rhinomarine will do the job but it is not free, you can download a 15 day trial version from the net, you will not be able to de-install and re-install after that. Expired is expired. If you have Virtual PC, then you can "save" the 2 virtual PC files after you have installed and "copy over the expired Rhino installation" every 15 days. Formsys hydrostatics software Hydromax is good but expensive. Mikey |

| Use iges when exporting from Maxsurf to Rhino, set zero point at forward perpendicular, set surfaces -> precision to highest and choose export as iges, 10 decimals and NURBS I would recommend turning symmetry off in Maxsurf before exporting (=you get one side), and Rhinomarine can mirror. |

| Yes, you can |

| Going to have to play around with Archimedes a bit, I think.... haven't tried it before, strikes me as useful but getting a Rhino model in seems a bit less than intuitive. Any advice on that?

| Download the latest service release for Rhino. use the command "AttachGHSData" (I think it's in the Bonus->Tools menu) Export the GHS data from Rhino. Open it in ArchimedesMB. Tim B.

| ArchimedesMB makes life quite simple, as at the moment it only uses hull items. The easiest way to export the GHS data is to add a hull item and select half the hull (ie. port or starboard side) as the geometry. Then select "Rhino Geometry is 1/2 GHS geometry (split on CL)". Check that the other data is ok, click OK. Then use save or export to save the GHS geometry. Tim B.

| In the archimedes website you can find a basic tutorial on how to input a hull. Or read this tutorial on how to use the ghs plug in http://rhino3d.cl/GHS_UG.pdf or use Freeship instead of maxsurf and save you hull from freeship as a Archimedes or GHS |

| thank you sooo much to you all, now I can export ship GHS data to archimedes and can analyze stability and other things! |
