| Martijn thank you for the FreeShip. It is a great software for the purpose it is intended. I would just like to know why did you write it in Delphi? |

| Thank You! I have had a quick look at the software, and am AMAZED that it is offered free. Thank you to those involved. I would however like to mention that I did not previously know about it until I "purchased' it on e-bay, for the ridicoulous amount of about $3. I thought what could I lose. when I got the download link, I googled the file and came across this forum, and needles to say the software. Now, if the seller on E-bay is not Martijn, then I think Martijn should know. If it is, however, I think Martijn, you should charge more. It looks brilliant, and I am sure it is. Thanks again Llew Gigster |

| I doubt that's Martjin selling FreeShip links on eBay, gigster. As far as I know he's a good honest guy. In fact I'm pretty sure that what you describe is a violation of eBay's rules. Martjin recently released DelftShip, the next generation of FreeShip. There are two versions, a somewhat simplified 'free' version for people who just want to sketch out back-of-the-napkin ideas, and a 'pro' version (a few hundred to a few thousand bucks, depending on options and plugins) that can handle most serious naval architecture projects up till the point where the hull, tankage, decks etc. are finalized and the structural design begins.

| Ebay and violation Thanks Marshmat I thougt that would be the case. Can you imagine how different this PR*CK is to Martjin?? Here is someone that has put in who knows how much effort, and makes it available freely, and on the complete opposite end is some f*ckwit who actually goes into business illegally. What a wanker. Basically stealing. Martjin, if you pick up on this thread, I would be more than happy if you contacted me directly, so that I can make a contribution. And I am sure that there are many more out there that would do the same. To the PR*CK on ebay - your time will come. Believe it. |

| Interesting. One of my own designs -- the ultralight camping boat Blackfly, which I offer for free on my own website -- appeared on Ebay a few weeks ago, bundled with a bunch of other free plans (mostly reprints from old magazines). Amazing what people will do to turn a buck. |

| Back to FREEship ( vs delftship ) on hull surfaces weight works nice do invisible layers for engine or tanks work in calcs for this poor wharfrat without using the grey cells give that waterline, ok, i'm trying ![]() |

| Yipster, Even though the layer is not visible, it is still in the mass calculations. The hydrostatics switch turns a layer off to hydrostatic calcs, but not the mass calcs. The mass calculations are nice. I've have a couple of models built with ballast and full interiors. No engines yet though. Setting the specific weight or thickness to zero will zero the mass of that layer.
