exporting problem...

Hi There,

I'm trying to design a runabout using Freeship, and I got trouble to exporting the files to dxf and obj files.

I'm going to render it using 3Ds Max, and when I imported the file, its looks kind of awfull, lacks of mesh or polygon... is there any tricks that I can use to fix it ? ... especially with the polygon or mesh problem.

Before downloading and using Freeship, I'm a regular user of autocad and 3ds max, so this problem is starting to make me got a headache ...

Not a free solution but is fast and easy, use the demo of Moi3D, just export your file as IGES from FreeShip, then import in Moi3D and export as Obj or 3Ds

It does produces very clean meshes and very easy to tweak.

hi all, this is my first post here.
Just to say I had a similar problem exporting from freeship to autocad via dxf.
I fixed it perfectly when I noticed that my freeship uses a comma ',' as decimal separator (i.e. my standard separator), while my autocad uses points '.' ; I opened then the dxf file and simply replaced commas with points.
You should control if the decimal separator in the dxf file is the same decimal separator used by your autocad.
