| Export IGES from Rhino When I export IGES surfaces from Rhino, they open up in other programs without the surfaces remaining trimmed. Is there a way of preventing this?... So that models opened in other programs appear the same as in Rhino...?

| They should remain trimmed, I've never had that problem, it's likely an export options issue. Bare with me and I'll check. --- No, I cannot get it to repeat that issue with me. What version of Rhino are you using and what type/program-version of IGES file are you exporting to?

| You're not alone. I often have major issues with IGES too. Note that Maxsurf opens native Rhino files now, as does solidworks, that saves a lot of mucking around. Sometimes it's better to export one surface at time.

| No worries, I try to go from other programs to Rhino as my end point. Though I'd be a lot happier if programs like Maxsurf had better trimmed surface support. It might not be much good for you application but you could try producing a tight section for your trimmed surface and then lofting the sections into a new surface that should import correctly. It won't be 100% accurate but it might work depending on what you need it for.
