Construction calculations

Best construction software for yachts?

I need a cheap & reliable program to calculate yacht structures. Any Ideas?
I don't necessarily need a program that generates the drawings, just does the number crunching!

Thanks

Jamie

Jamie,
Do you want ABS, Lloyd's, DNV, GL, or some custom structural program?
The choices are almost infinite, but you won't find a program to "calculate yacht structures" as such.

I have been thinking when I use rules from DNV and my own xls that it's stupid that a lot of people writes their own xls or programs...

Steve & Ragnar,

I've used excel to do this stuff before but was trying to avoid setting anything up from scratch, having only just started on my own. I'll try the Classification society websites and see if they do such a thing. Just being lazy I guess!

Many thanks

Jamie

From DNV the "Tentative rules..." for grp, Alu, steel, for small vessels costs a few Euro in paper, while it costs much, much more to get the same data electronically.
