Autoship embeded curves...

hi all, please HELP!

i am trying to cut out a part of a curved surface -i.e surf1- (that only has 1 side. basically an extruded curve).
  • I embed a curve -Curve1- on surf1 at the point which.
  • Then i embed another curve -Curve2- some distance above it, and rule a surface (from curve 1 to curve2).

Now there is a surface (surf1) with the new surface (surf2) embeded in it, at a certain height.

i would like to cut out surf2 from surf1, so that all that remains is surf1 modified. (remeber, it is always a palnner curved surface)

Simple enough.... but impossible for me to achieve! why!?!?

i tried "Surf Intersect", but wont work. it usually gives me the message: "too few control points".

what am i doing wrong?

thanks for the Help

ps: please dont tell me to do the tutorials... because i did already!
