ask for help in Maxsurf

Hi,
I am beginer of Maxsurf and HydroMax, I had used other software for stability analysis. Now I want to use Hydromax for calculation. I have some exist vessel's offset, how to input to Maxsurf, I found it can not input directly.
and if use Perfit tool, the surface of generation is difference form actual surface.

I want to get help, and some tell me how to deal with this matter.I found the user manual didn't tell us how to deal with it.

thanks

Hydromax requires a surface model rather than simply offsets as this allows it to calculate extremely precise hydrostatics, as well as particularly accurate tank and compartment definitions.

This means that you need to read the offsets into Maxsurf as markers and fit a hull to them. You can do this manually, and an experienced Maxsurf user can do this quite quickly, or you can use various tools to assist you.

These tools include

1. Prefit for simple shapes.
2. Fit Surface to Markers (i.e. Genetic Algorithm based surface fitting)
3. Fit Surface Edge to markers (very useful for hard chine hull surfaces)
4. Measure surface errors - measures errors between a marker points and a given surface.

If you don't have sufficient information in the Maxsurf manuals to use these functions, please email me an I can send you the Maxsurf training pdf file which covers these subjects in a bit more detail.

They are on the Maxsurf Academic web site but not on our main site.

My apologies, I am in the process of setting up a guest account so non-academic users can access the designs and documents on the Maxsurf Academic site, I'll try to have the account details posted in the next day or so.
